INTRODUCTION

Redcliffe & Temple BID are supporting partners of Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership‘s Climate Action Programme. The programme launched in April 2021 to support organisations across Bristol and the wider region to reduce their carbon emissions, as part of Bristol’s efforts to tackle the climate crisis.

Our partnership will see a jointly funded project focus directly on the Redcliffe & Temple BID area with a range of support for businesses, helping us to achieve our Sustainability Action Plan.

Throughout 2023 and 2024, we aim to provide levy payers in Redcliffe and Temple with information and tools, whatever their starting point, to enable them to take climate action, fostering a sense of community in the local area.  As part of this collaboration, we are delighted to welcome Bex Shreeve as Engagement Officer at Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership.

Bex will be working with businesses in Redcliffe and Temple to accelerate climate action, through the delivery of events, workshops and peer-to-peer learning activities.

The following activities will form the core of the Climate Action Programme work:

  • Build on learning and momentum of existing Climate Leaders based within the area: Avon Fire and Rescue, Burges Salmon, PwC, and Jacobs.
  • Integrate climate action with work on Green Infrastructure strategy and wider BID activities
  • Offer motivation and support to a diverse range of organisations at different stages of their climate action journey.
  • Promote best practice, case studies, and celebrate successes, in order to acknowledge the efforts organisations are making and showcase the trajectory of the city to inspire others to act.

Our Sustainability Commitment

We identified six SDGs which we will focus on during this BID term. 
This project primarily supports SDG13 – Climate Action, SDG4 – Quality Education and SD11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities.
