In May 2024 alone, TAP for Bristol donated £20,000 of funding across three homelessness support charities: Emmaus Bristol, Survivors Leading Essential Education & Change (SLEEC) and Caring in Bristol. £5,000 each was distributed to SLEEC and Emmaus, while £10,000 went to Caring in Bristol towards its Z-House project, which provides short-term accommodation for young people experiencing homelessness whilst they secure move-on options. An additional £1,000 was provided to support the printing of Caring in Bristol’s Caring Handbooks. These handbooks provide vital information on agencies across Bristol who provide support for those who are homeless.
More recently, in September 2024, TAP for Bristol allocated funding to The Nelson Trust, a local charity dedicated to supporting women in crisis. The funding will support The Nelson Trust’s Bristol Emergency Fleeing Fund, which provides vital resources to women escaping domestic abuse, including emergency mobile phones, transportation to critical appointments, safe accommodation and essential items like food and toiletries.
