AI is dramatically transforming industries by increasing efficiency, innovation and providing competitive advantages, however, it is also increasing the digital divide. This ready-made, skills-based volunteer initiative will deliver entry-level AI knowledge to volunteer and charity networks.

In a recent survey of good causes in the Neighbourly network, over 64% said they were struggling to integrate AI due to limited understanding of where to start – that’s why this campaign is so important.

From mid-March onwards, employees will be able to use company volunteer hours to take part in this exciting new campaign to deliver much-needed upskilling to Neighbourly’s network of small charities using a ‘Train the Trainer’ model.

How does Train the Trainer work?

Levy payers can register to join Neighbourly’s AI basics training webinar on Tuesday 11th March. In the session, participants will hear more about the campaign and learn everything you need to know to host their own session with a charity.

They will then be able to connect with a good cause in need of training, to deliver a short online session which is easy to fit in around a working day. Materials and slides will all be provided – there is no need to be a tech guru or have any prior AI skills to get involved.

Interested in taking part?

Find out more about the campaign here and, if you’re interested in taking part in the AI123 initiative, sign up for the 1 hour webinar here.

Make sure you are signed up to Neighbourly, which you can do here and when asked for a volunteering code use ‘RTBID’ so you can make an impact through this important campaign, and help Neighborly reach their target of training 100,000 people to be able to address this growing digital skills gap by June.
