Join us for an exploratory walk to discuss how we can add greenery, nature and colour to Redcliff Street in Redcliffe and Avon Street in the Temple Quay area. We will build on the ideas identified in our Green Infrastructure Action Plan.
In small groups, we will explore:
1. Cities in Nature & Wildlife: potential locations for habitat, integrating living walls, bug hotels, wildflower-seeded areas, floating reeds, rain gardens, SUDs, etc. Our focus is on bringing life back to the cityscape. For example, Urban Green UP Liverpool
2. Social Spaces & Wellbeing: pinpoint and shed light on potential areas for public art installations, play features, parklet cycle stands, and seating. For example, Parklets and Barcelona Superblock
3. Cool Spaces: where we can introduce water fountains, shelters, and pop-up spaces to bring a touch of respite from urban heat. For example, Vienna Cool Streets
4. Designing Spaces for Women: location to improve safety and accessibility through effective lighting, signage, and active frontages. For Example, Barcelona, cities for women
Together, we’ll be scouting areas ripe for improvement. Through group discussions, we’ll brainstorm how the BID can collaborate with stakeholders to implement these green initiatives in the upcoming years, temporary or permanent solutions.
