After much local and national lobbying, today’s announcement is welcome news for hospitality, theatres and museums.

Whilst we feel that there is still more support needed to help businesses survive, the announcement clearly shows the power of collective voice.

Details of the financial support for businesses in the Hospitality & Leisure sectors and for associated businesses are as follows:

  • One- off grants of up to £6,000 per premise for hospitality & leisure sector businesses. The value of the grant is dependant upon the Rateable Value of the property.
  • Re-introduction of Statutory Sick Pay Rebate scheme for businesses with less than 250 employees. This allows for claims for up to 2 weeks for sickness as a result of a Covid related absence.
  • An additional £30m to be available through the Culture Recovery Fund for cultural venues.
  • £100m + to be added to the Additional Restrictions Grant fund for Local Authorities to allocate at their discretion.

All grants will be administered by Bristol City Council.
