On Saturday 11 December, Redcliffe & Temple BID had the pleasure of sponsoring the planting of a yew tree in Temple Church Gardens as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative to Plant a Tree for the Jubilee in 2022.

We were delighted to be joined by Captain Steve Higham and some of the HMS Prince of Wales officers and crew who have been visiting the city to celebrate the official affiliation of the HMS Prince of Wales ship with Bristol.

We would like to offer a huge thanks to HM Lord-Lieutenant Peaches Golding OBE and DL Chris Curling for their support in making this wonderful occasion happen, and to John Atkinson from Bristol City Council who provided the expertise and chose such a great tree and location.

Find out more about the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative via their website.
