Redcliffe & Temple BID support local hospitals and the community this Christmas

Redcliffe & Temple Business Improvement District (BID) has given its full-hearted support to the local community and hospitals in time for Christmas.

The BID is working with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity to support the Christmas Star Concert – an annual carol concert at St Mary Redcliffe Church.

The Christmas cracker of a concert raises money for 10 hospitals in Bristol city centre, South Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare, providing more moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most. In total, the concert has raised more than £60,000 since 2013.

Steve Bluff, head of Redcliffe & Temple BID, said:

"The Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity Christmas Star Concert is a fabulous evening that brings joy to many people from across the city in the beautifully atmospheric surroundings of St Mary Redcliffe Church. “The BID are thrilled to be able to sponsor the event and offer a number of free tickets to members of the local community and hospital staff."

As part of their support, the BID has provided 150 free tickets for NHS staff, guests of pupils at Hannah More Primary School, who will be performing at the concert, and members of the community who would otherwise face barriers to attend the event.

This year’s Christmas Star Concert features performances from award-winning choir Bristol A Cappella, the Owls of Pill, a group of all-male singers who have been carolling since 1919, and the NHS Choir, who’ll be delivering medicine in the form of music.

Elaine Gibson, philanthropy & partnerships manager at Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, said:

“The Christmas Star Concert is always a fantastic evening, but the support of Redcliffe & Temple BID really adds the extra festive sparkle. From everyone at the charity, I want to extend a huge thank you to the Redcliffe & Temple BID. It helps us raise even more for our hospitals and go the extra mile for patients who need our support.”

Tickets start from £7 for a child and from £12.50 for an adult, purchase yours here.
