Tell Us A Bit About Your Organisation

dBs Institute is the centre for sound and digital technologies.  Our Bristol centre, found on St Thomas Street houses state-of-the-art training and commercial facilities.

The commercial arm, dBs Pro, is an award-winning creative audio company and recording studio located on the top floor of 17 St Thomas Street.

Established in 1998 in Plymouth, we set up the Bristol centre 10 years ago which houses 12 recording and production studios.

WHAT DOES THE BID MEAN TO YOU?

Community is at the heart of our business and we love working in an area where others share that value. Being part of the BID means that there’s a shared voice for the people who live and work in the area, it helps push ahead with important shared issues like improving sustainability and the environment.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT THE REDCLIFFE AND TEMPLE AREA?

Redcliffe and Temple is perfectly located for the work we do, close enough to the train station to be easy to reach for our clients and students, loads of great places to eat and easy to find a peaceful spot alongside the River Avon which is only a stone’s throw away.

It’s been exciting to see the area grow since we moved in, the skyline is ever-changing but it’s also packed full of history to discover. Events like the street food market in Finzels Reach make it much easier to mingle with other local businesses and encourage our staff and clients to explore the area.

Being based in Bristol is significant for us as it’s a unique and creative place, both important traits when it comes to working in music and sound.
