Project Type
CREATING & PROMOTING A VIBRANT PLACE
Date
1-9 June 2024

The UK’s largest celebration of the natural world returned for 2024 and took place from Saturday 1 – Sunday 9 June. 96 events were held across the Bristol and Bath region and online, where 15 of those took place in central Bristol, attracting an audience of 16,324.

The Festival of Nature’s Wild Weekend took place on 1 and 2 June in Millennium Square and Anchor Square, attracting an audience of 15,000 people across their family-friendly activities, performances, talks and more. The 2024 mid-week programme offered ‘pay-what-you-can’ events including wildlife walks and talks, nature workshops, family activities, arts and crafts, film screenings, behind-the-scenes opportunities, music and performances.

The 2024 festival also included a ‘Community Day’ on Sunday 9 June at sites across the West of England which saw residents and visitors take action for nature with activities and opportunities led by community groups and local organisations, including wildflower planting, litter picking, wildlife recording, and more.

“I liked the interactive stalls at the Wild Weekend in Millennium Square. Chatting to the people at the stalls about their organisations was very interesting and fun. I also enjoyed the Behind the scenes on Life on Our Planet, because I really like the series and it was amazing to see how they made it.”

“Really enjoyed the Q&A with the producers, was great to hear first hand their experiences and understand how the production is made.”
